Carousel, an 11-song set, recorded in MusicRoomStudios in the Spring of 2008, is the debut full-length album of Brooklyn, New York's premier original rock/soul band, The Possessions.

"We worked like dogs on this record, but it really reflects how far we've come as a band, and how much our sound has evolved," said Frank Schiazza, who produced the album and wrote or co-wrote all 11 of the albums songs. "We went in with the intentions of making earthy, modern music that was steeply rooted in the our old-soul roots, and we did just that."

The album also marks the emergence of singer Tracy Eisenberg as a real musical force.

"Tracy did a great job on Where Cars Live, but she came into her own on this record," said Frank Schiazza. "I geared the production of this album towards making her voice shine, and it worked. Her approach is so sincere and her voice so soulful that I didn't need to do much. Tracy even wrote a few of the songs on thr album. "Always the Same," actually, which she wrote on a street corner while waiting for me to show up to meet her, might be favorite track on the record. Start to finish, Tracy was dynamite."

Just before recording commenced, the band added veteran bassist Trevor Coen to the fold - a decision that proved to be elemental for the band's sound.

"Trevor is such an amazing musician that it elevated everything," said Eisenberg. "We knew we were working on a special project, but Trevor's presence in the studio really legitamized things. He came in and immediately carved out his own, unique place in the band, and just tore up the bottom end."

With Carousel finally under their belts, the band can now focus on invading the New York concert scene.

"We really wanted to have a solid product to shop around, and we feel that this album is just that," said Schiazza. "Now we're going to spend the next year gigging around and getting tighter as a band, to complete the package."
