Recorded in December, 2007, at MusicRoomStudios in Brooklyn, Where Cars Live is The Possessions' debut EP.

"Trace & I had only known each other for two months when we sat down to record Where Cars Live," said Frank Schiazza. "We really fell into our groove early on, and the songs just sort of fell together."

At the heart of the album is "(You're Gonna Be) Mine, Someday", an early-60's inspired R&B ballad that Schiazza wrote after a day of listening to Phil Spector records.

"I had been in a major Phil Spector mood for the month prior, and I really wanted to write a song that touched on young love, just like all those great Ronnettes and Crystals sides. I sat down at the piano and just started playing some, as I call them, "Spectorian" chords, and the song was done about 10 minutes later. Tracy came over later on that night with the intention of cutting vocal tracks for some other songs, but we shifted our focus to "...Mine, Someday," and it ended up being one of our best tracks."

As for the title of the E.P., the band has Tracy's adorable neice, Lily, to thank.

"I was with some family in Arizona over Thanksgiving weekend, where we spent a lot of time just driving around. One such time, we passed by a huge parking lot. Suddenly, Lily started singing "Where cars live... where cars liiiive!" complete with melody and all. It was adorable and oddly profound, so I texted Frank immediately and we knew we had our album title."
